The CBSE has introduced its first digital revaluation system for Class 12 exams, aiming for enhanced transparency. In a recent tweet Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has mentioned the same. The strictly online process will begin from May 19 to May 29, 2026, and is divided into two stages. Students must first obtain a scanned copy of their answer sheet for ₹700 per subject (Stage 1). Only after comparing their copy with the official marking scheme, can they apply for Stage 2, which involves verification of marks for ₹500 per book or re-evaluation of specific answers for ₹100 per question.
The process involves 17 lakh students and 98 lakh answer copies, totaling 40 crore scanned pages. To date, 4 lakh students have accessed 11 lakh copies to verify marks or raise queries. Supported by IIT Kanpur, IIT Madras, and four PSU banks, the initiative provides integrated payment and technical oversight. While acknowledging some discrepancies, the government has accepted responsibility and pledged that all student concerns will be resolved with full accountability.
