The Council of Scientific Research & Development (CSIR) National Physical Laboratory (NPL) New Delhi has issued the notification for the recruitment of Technician (1) 2026, Advertisement No Rectt /02/2026. Through this recruitment drive, a total of 20 vacancies will be filled in various technical trades such as electronics, electrical, COPA, multimedia, photography and mechanic motor vehicle. CSIR NPL Technician Recruitment 2026 Eligibility Criteria
To apply for the recruitment, candidates must have passed Class 10 with a minimum of 55% marks and should also possess an ITI certificate in the relevant trade. Apart from this, candidates who have completed apprentice training or have three years of work experience in the concerned trade can also apply for the posts.
Candidates must be aged between 18 and 28 years as of June 30, 2026.Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable to SC, ST, OBC (NCL), PwBD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories as per the Government of India and CSIR norms.
CSIR NPL Technician Recruitment 2026 Selection Procedure
The selection process for the recruitment will include application screening, trade test, written examination and document verification. The trade test will be only qualifying in nature and marks of the trade test will not be considered for the final merit list.
CSIR NPL Technician Recruitment 2026 Exam Scheme
The written examination will be conducted in three parts. Paper I will consist of a mental ability test with 50 questions carrying 100 marks and candidates will get one hour to complete it. Paper 2 will cover General Awareness and English Language with 25 questions from each subject carrying 75 marks each.Candidates will be given 30 minutes for each section. Paper 3 will be based on the concerned technical subject and will include 50 questions for 150 marks, with a duration of one hour.
