The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test, NEET-UG, is a big deal for 2.3 million students, and the previous test got cancelled after the question paper somehow got out into the open. Now, a re-test is scheduled for June 21 . The National Testing Agency is scrambling to make sure this one is both safe and fair for all students.

The education ministry is taking some pretty serious precautions to make sure the question papers are secure. They've activated a two-layer security system - involving the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF) - and the IAF is helping out by flying the papers to test locations, which is cutting down delivery time in half. And in addition to that, the CRPF and CISF, along with the state police, will be escorting & guarding the papers from June 11 right on up until the evening of the test on June 21 . What's more, CAPF officers will also be on the IAF planes during transport.

NEET UG Re-Test 2026: Changes to the Exam Process

The National Testing Agency has made a few tweaks to the NEET UG re-test to make it a bit more student-friendly. To begin with, the exam time has been extended by 15 minutes so it now lasts a total of 195 minutes - thats 2:00 pm to 5:15 pm. The question booklet has also been bumped up to include two extra pages for rough work, which should give students a bit more room to breathe and not feel like they're rushing to finish.

The NEET-UG test is set for June 21 and the National Testing Agency is going all out to make sure it happens without a hitch for all the students involved. Theyre working with the Central Armed Police Forces, the Indian Air Force, and the state police to keep the question papers safe and get them to the test locations on schedule. The National Testing Agency is really going out of its way to make sure the students have a good experience when they take the test.

Government is going to cover a LOT of towns using leg-1 airports. including the likes of Delhi, Chennai, Ahmedabad and Guwahati - and many, many more. Theyre going to cover around 15 towns under leg-1 airports to start with. On the other hand they will be covering a whopping 85 towns under leg-2.

The Indian Air Force have some advice - The IAF have said that anyone who works for the Central Armed Police Forces and carries a gun on duty has to give it up before getting on a plane. The guns will get stored safely and then given back once the person gets to the airport they are heading to. This was decided by the Ministry of Home Affairs.

The Ministry of Home Affairs is really keen that everything goes without a hitch - so theyve asked the CRPF and CISF to pick one person to be in charge of coordinating with everyone else. This person will make sure that all the teams are working together and that things stay on track as planned.
