1. Kangchenjunga Peak

Kangchenjunga is known as the highest mountain peak in India. Standing tall at an elevation of 28,169 ft, tt is third-highest peak in the world. The meaning of the Kangchenjunga peak is 'The Five Treasures of Snow". It is located on the border between Nepal and the Indian state of Sikkim. 

2. Nanda Devi

At 25,643 ft, Nanda Devi is the second highest mountain peak in India. Located in the Garhwal Himalayas region in the Indian state of Uttarakhand, it is the highest peak located entirely within the borders of India. It features two distinct twin peaks (Nanda Devi Main and Nanda Devi East) connected by a high, 2-km ridge.

3. Kamet

Rising to a height of 25,446 ft, the Kamet peak is the third-highest peak in the country and the second-highest peak in the Garhwal region of Uttarakhand, India. This massive pyramid-shape peak was first successfully summited in 1931 by a British expedition team. It is the 29th highest peak in the world. It acts as a natural boundary near the border of the Tibet Autonomous Region of China.

4. Saltoro Kangri

Towering 25,400 ft, the Saltoro Kangri mountain peak in the Karakoram Range is the fourth-highest peak in India and the 31st highest peak in the world. Located along the militarised Actual Ground Position Line (AGPL) in the Siachen Glacier region, it sits on the border of Indian-controlled Ladakh and Pakistan-controlled Gilgit-Baltistan. It is also referred to as Peak 36 or K10. It was first successfully summited on 24 July 1962.

5. Saser Kangri

Saser Kangri is the fifth highest mountain peak in India and the 35th highest mountain peak in the world. Saser Kangri, also known as 'Yellow Snow Mountain' in Ladakhi, is a massif in the Saser Muztagh, the easternmost subrange of the Karakoram Range. Located in the Ladakh region, the dominant peak is Saser Kangri I. The Saser Kangri massif comprises a group of six peaks: Saser Kangri I (25,171 ft), Saser Kangri II East (24,649 ft), Saser Kangri II West (24,600 ft), Saser Kangri III (24,590 ft), Saser Kangri IV (24,327 ft), and Plateau Peak (23,980 ft).

6. Mamostong Kangri

The sixth highest peak in India is the Mamostong Kangri. It is the 48th highest peak in the world. Located in the remote Rimo Muztagh sub-range of the Karakoram Range in Ladakh, it stands tall at an elevation of 24,659 ft. It is referred to as the "Mountain of Thousand Devils" due to its geography. It was first successfully climbed in 1984 by a joint Indo-Japanese expedition.

7. Rimo I

Located in the remote Rimo Muztagh subrange of the Karakoram in Ladakh, India, the Rimo I is the dominant peak of the Rimo Massif. At an elevation of 24,229 ft, it is the 71st highest mountain peak in the world. It is about 20 km northeast of the Siachen Glacier and near to the Karakoram Pass.

8. Hardeol

At a staggering heigt of 23,494 ft, the Hardeol is the eighth-highest peak located in the Kumaon Himalayas. It is located in the Pithorgarh district of Uttarakhand. It is famously referred to as the 'Temple of God'. It was first summited by 31 May 1978 by an Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) expedition team. 

9. Chaukhamba I

Chaukhamba I is the ninth-highest peak in India. It is the highest and main peak of the Chaukhamba mountain massif in the Gangotri Group of the Garhwal Himalayas in Uttarakhand, India. The name Chaukhamba translates to 'four pillars'. It comprises of four peaks: Chaukhamba I (23,419 ft), Chaukhamba II (23,196 ft), Chaukhamba II (22,949 ft), and Chaukhamba IV (22,487 ft).

10. Trishul

Ranking tenth on the list of highest peaks in India, the Trishul is a massif of three Himalayan peaks in the western Kumaun region of Uttarakhand, India. Of the three peaks, Trishul I stands tall at an height of 23,360 ft, Trishul II at 21,949 ft, and Trishul III at 19,711 ft. Jt has been named after Lord Shiva's trident. It is an integral part of the Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve.
