The Delhi government plans to upgrade 75 CM SHRI schools in the capital with artificial intelligence-enabled learning, smart boards, projectors and other advanced facilities. According to reports, the modernisation has been planned to build future-ready institutions aligned with global education standards.

As per reports, the CM SHRI schools will be developed as specialised institutions in line with the National Education Policy 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education 2023. Focus will also be laid on skill-based and competency-driven education to prepare students for global demands. 

CM SHRI schools will also promote futuristic learning through AI-powered personalised learning hubs, digital integrationon and experiential teaching methods along with flexible assessment systems aimed to reduce exam stress.

The campuses will also feature smart classrooms equipped with augmented and virtual reality tools, AI-enabled libraries, robotics labs and biometric attendance systems. Schools are also planned as green campuses with solar energy and zero-waste practices.

CM SHRI Schools: Admissions and Reservations

The CM SHRI schools will start from the nursery level or from class 6. Admissions from class 6 onwards will be conducted based on aptitude tests to identify talented students. Half of the seats will be reserved for students from government and government-sided schools, including those from the Directorate of Education (DoE), MCD, NDMC, Kendriya Vidyalayas and  Navodaya Vidyalayas. 

Students from SC, ST, OBC (non-creamy layer) categories and students with special needs will also be given a five per cent relaxation in eligibility criteria. Last year, the L-G had notified that the CM SHRI schools will be established as specified category institutions under the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education Act 2009.
