Himachal Pradesh: The Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board approved a ₹14 crore budget for 2026–27 to upgrade infrastructure and technical training. Chaired by Dr. Abhishek Jain, the meeting introduced key reforms, including establishing Class 12 Science equivalence for Polytechnic Diplomas, aligning pharmacy courses with PCI rules, and mandating surprise institutional audits.

Himachal Pradesh: The Himachal Pradesh Technical Education Board has officially allocated an annual budget of around ₹14 crore for the financial year 2026-27 in order to push forward infrastructural development and improve instructional standards in institutions across the state. The very important financial planning process was completed and approved in a prominent review meeting under the chairmanship of Dr. Abhishek Jain, who is the Secretary in the state's Department of Technical Education. In addition to the detailed financial planning process, the board adopted several academic reforms and quality control measures in order to modernize the technical and vocational education network in the state. 

An important aspect of the new budget is related to the review of operational examination systems in nearby state boards to improve local evaluation systems. Also, clear instructions were laid down to push forward academic equivalence between three-year Polytechnic Diplomas and Class 12 Science stream to remove any possible impediments to career advancement in future. Also, the board simplified the regulatory process of D. Pharmacy in line with the updated Pharmacy Council of India rules, along with the mandatory surprise audit of regional polytechnics on a time-bound basis.

D. Pharmacy Certification

Diplomas for D. Pharmacy candidates who completed their courses after 2020 will now be strictly issued per the revised notification of the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI).

Quality Compliance

Board officials are ordered to conduct routine, surprise inspections of polytechnic institutes to ensure any structural or educational deficiencies are resolved within a fixed time frame.

The important meeting, which was also assessing the infrastructure developed during the financial year 2025-26, was attended by notable state officials such as MLA Chandra Shekhar, along with other representatives from various state technical departments."
