France Opens the Doors: New 'Classes Internationales' Create Early Study-Abroad Pathways for Indian Students

France has formally extended its Classes Internationales program in accordance with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Emmanuel Macron's goal of welcoming 30,000 Indian students by 2030. By encouraging Indian students to pursue international exposure at the undergraduate level rather than waiting for postgraduate courses, this strategic effort represents a significant shift in global student mobility. The curriculum offers a foundational year that integrates rigorous French language instruction, academic approach, and cultural immersion, acting as a specialized preparatory bridge. This methodical approach guarantees that students are prepared to enter more than 200 different degree programs in engineering, sciences, commerce, and the arts, even if they are total novices in French.

The effort, which has recently spread beyond India to six other countries in the Indo-Pacific and Africa, currently involves more than thirty esteemed French institutions. The program, which is supported by Campus France and the French Institute in India, streamlines the visa application process and offers individualized advice to young scholars. In addition to providing an opportunity, France is actively creating an atmosphere where Indian students can succeed academically and professionally in the center of Europe by emphasizing academic focus and linguistic preparedness.

• Your academic standing in Class 12 and a motivational interview are the main factors used to determine admission. 

• Before you leave, you can sign up for a fast-track A2-level course at an Alliance Française center in India if you're a novice.  

• Indian students are eligible for a discounted visa processing price (about €50).
