UGC NET Answer Key 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is the body responsible for conducting the UGC NET exam 2026. The UGC NET exam was conducted for a total of 87 subjects including Political Science, Economics, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology, Hindi, English, History, and other subjects with two newly added subjects of Statistics and Forestry. The exam was conducted on 22 June to 30 June 2026 for all these subjects. The candidates are now awaiting the NTA to release the UGC NET answer key so that they can gauge their chances of qualifying the exam. The answer key will be provisional in nature, meaning the candidates can raise objections against this answer key in case any discrepancy is found in the answers. To submit the objections, the candidates will be required to pay an application fee of Rs. 200/- for each response.

How to Calculate UGC NET 2026 Marks Using the Answer Key
To calculate the marks using the UGC NET answer key, the candidates need to understand the marking scheme and exam pattern of the exam. The UGC NET exam consists of two papers which was conducted in a single shift in a continuous basis without any break. Paper 1 consists of 50 MCQs and Paper 2 consists of 100 MCQs, with the total number of questions being 150. Each question carries +2 marks with the total marks equalling to 300. There is no provision for negative marking in the exam. To caluclate the scores, lets take an example.
Suppose you have attempted 130 questions, where 90 are correct and 40 are incorrect, then calculate your marks as follows:
- 90x2= 180
- 40x0= 0
- Total Marks= 180
