NEET UG 2026 Leak: Complete Match in Chemistry Questions Cause CBI Action Against Paper Setters
An internal investigation by the NTA has confirmed that 100 per cent of the Chemistry questions in the NEET UG 2026 exam were leaked via a guess paper. Following this information, the names of atleast 27 paper setters and translators have been referred to the CBI for further investigation.
National Testing Agency, NTA has uncovered a huge breach in the integrity of the NEET UG 2026 examination. An internal investigation conducted by the NTA has confirmed that a guess paper was circulating way before the exam was conducted, and it contained a complete match of the questions of the chemistry section. This discovery led the National Testing Agency to refer around 27 individuals, including the ones who set the paper and translators, to the Central Bureau of Investigation.
NEET UG 2026 Leak: How the Leak was Uncovered?
The investigation began after a whistleblower from Sikar emailed the NTA on May 7, 2026, just four days after the national-level examination for Medical entrance was conducted. The whistleblower provided a PDF of the leaked paper, which, upon comparison, showed a perfect match for all Chemistry questions and a partial match for the Biology section. The NTA has now placed around 26 to 27 individuals involved in the setting of the paper under the scanner.
NEET UG 2026 Leak: New Security Protocols for June 21 Re-Exam
To prevent the paper leak again for the re-exam, which is to be conducted on June 21, 2026, the agency has replaced all previous question setters and translators across Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. Furthermore, the NTA has also strengthened its leadership by appointing a Chief Technology Officer, CTO and a Chief Human Resource Officer to administer the digital security of the examination. The Education Ministry has also directed District Magistrates to ensure foolproof monitoring for the June retest to restore the trust of millions of medical aspirants.
