The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has issued an important notice for Post Diploma DNB trainees from the 2026 admission session. The board has asked trainees to submit their Joining Report and Self-Appraisal Form through the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) for provisional registration.

According to the notice issued on September 3, the submission process will begin from September 7, 2026. The notice is specifically for candidates who have joined Post Diploma DNB courses in the 2026 admission session.

What Has NBEMS Asked Trainees To Do?

Candidates who have joined their allotted Post Diploma DNB seats will have to complete the required registration process through the OPJR portal.

As part of this process, trainees have to submit their Joining Report and Self-Appraisal Form. These documents are required for provisional registration as NBEMS Post Diploma DNB trainees.

The process is important because simply getting a seat through counselling and joining the allotted hospital is not the end of the admission formalities. Trainees also need to complete the registration requirements prescribed by NBEMS.

Submission To Begin From September 7

The online submission of the Joining Report and Self-Appraisal Form will start on September 7, 2026.

The latest notice comes shortly after the completion of the Post Diploma DNB counselling process for the 2026 admission session. NBEMS announced the allotment result for the final mop-up round on August 27.

Candidates who have secured seats in the 2026 admission session should therefore make sure that they complete the required steps within the timeline given by NBEMS.

Where Will The Forms Be Submitted?

The forms will be submitted through the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR). NBEMS provides separate login facilities for trainees and accredited hospitals on its portal.

Trainees should use the official portal and follow the instructions given by NBEMS while submitting their details and documents. They should also carefully check the information entered before submitting the forms.

Why Is The Process Important?

The Joining Report confirms that the candidate has joined the allotted Post Diploma DNB course, while the Self-Appraisal Form is part of the documentation required by NBEMS for trainee registration.

The provisional registration process is important for candidates because Post Diploma DNB trainees need to complete the formalities prescribed by the board after joining their seats.

NBEMS has been issuing similar notices for trainees from earlier admission sessions as well. In July 2026, for example, the board had provided a final opportunity for candidates from the 2025 admission session to submit their Joining Report and Self-Appraisal through OPJR.

Candidates from the 2026 admission session should therefore keep the latest notice in mind and complete the submission process from September 7.

Trainees should regularly check the official NBEMS website for any further instructions, changes in the schedule or additional requirements related to provisional registration.
