Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2026: Over 1.45 lakh registered so far; DTE extends application deadline

Maharashtra Polytechnic 2026: The Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) Maharashtra has formally decided to extend the deadline of registrations for admissions to first-year Post SSC Diploma engineering (Polytechnic) courses for the 2026-27 session. While the initial deadline was set as June 22, 2026, it is now extended until July 2, 2026. State Minister for Higher & Technical Education Chandrakant Patil has informed that such a decision is taken because of the sudden increase in the number of applicants and to give extra time to the students to arrange required certificates and reservation documents.  

The interest of students in technical education continues to be exceptionally high, as more than 1.45 lakh students have already registered themselves through the Centralized Admission Process (CAP). Out of those who registered, over 1.15 lakh have paid fees and submitted their details for verification process. As per revised schedule, the provisional merit list will be released on July 4, 2026, after which a grievance period will run from July 5 to July 7. The eagerly awaited final merit list will be out on July 8, 2026. Candidates with minimum 35% marks in Class 10 can register themselves and opt for e-Scrutiny process on portal www.dtemaharashtra.gov.in.

Maharashtra Polytechnic Admission 2026: Important Highlights for Applicants

• Eligibility: The candidates are required to possess a valid SSC (Class 10) mark sheet that is at least 35% marks.

• Scrutiny Mode: On submitting the application form on the official website (dtemaharashtra.gov.in), the candidates will have the option of e-Scrutiny Mode, which will not require the candidates to travel physically to any Facilitation Centre (FC).

• Application Fees: Rs. 400 for General category candidates & Rs. 300 for Reserved Category candidates.

However, there was a deadline set for June 22, 2026; nevertheless, the Higher and Technical Education Minister, Chandrakant Patil, extended it.
