The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the Common University Entrance Test Undergraduate or CUET UG 2026 examination which began from 11th May 2026 and will continue till 31st May 2026. Candidates appearing for the exam must strictly follow the exam day guidelines issued by the NTA to avoid any kind of inconvenience or disqualification at the examination centre. Along with the dress code and reporting instructions, NTA has also released the complete list of documents, permitted items, and banned objects for the examination hall.
According to the Official Information CUET UG 2026 is being conducted for 37 subjects and over 15 lakh students have registered for the examination this year. Candidates are advised to reach the examination centre at least two hours before the commencement of the exam.

CUET UG 2026: Documents Required at Exam Centre
Candidates appearing for CUET UG 2026 must carry the following mandatory documents to the examination hall:
- Printed copy of CUET UG 2026 admit card
- Self-declaration form attached with the admit card
- Two passport-size photographs (same as uploaded in the application form)
- Original valid government-issued photo ID proof
- PwD/PwBD certificate, if applicable
- Required diabetic eatables, if applicable
The NTA has clearly instructed students to carry the same ID proof that was uploaded during the CUET UG 2026 application process.
CUET UG 2026 Permitted Items
Only a few essential items will be allowed inside the examination hall. These include:
- Transparent water bottle
- Transparent ballpoint pen
- Admit card with self-declaration
- Passport-size photographs
- Original photo ID proof
- Diabetic-related eatables such as sugar tablets or fruits
- PwD/PwBD certificates, wherever applicable
Candidates wearing religious attire or articles of faith such as “kalava” are permitted, but they must report early for additional security checks.
CUET UG 2026 Banned Items List
The following items are strictly prohibited inside the examination centre:
- Mobile phones
- Smart watches
- Bluetooth devices
- Earphones or microphones
- Calculators
- Written notes or papers
- Electronic gadgets
- Wallets or handbags
- Metallic items
- Food items other than diabetic-related essentials
- Any unfair means material
Candidates found carrying prohibited items may face cancellation of candidature or disciplinary action by NTA.
CUET UG 2026 Dress Code Guidelines
Candidates are advised to wear simple and comfortable clothes while appearing for the examination. Heavy jewellery, metallic accessories, caps, scarves, or elaborate dresses should be avoided. Those wearing customary or religious attire should reach the centre well in advance for proper frisking and checking procedures.
Important Exam Day Instructions
- Reach the examination centre at least two hours before the exam begins
- Verify all details mentioned on the admit card carefully
- Follow instructions given by invigilators and centre authorities
- Do not indulge in unfair practices during the examination
- Candidates arriving late may not be allowed to enter the exam hall
The CUET UG 2026 examination is being conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from May 11 to May 31, 2026, across multiple centres in India and abroad.
