CBSE has cancelled the Class 12 board exams for students in several Middle Eastern countries. The exams were earlier postponed due to the prevailing situation in the region. CBSE will soon share details about the alternative evaluation method for affected students.

The Central Board of Secondary Education has announced the cancellation of Class 12 board examinations for students studying in CBSE-affiliated schools across several Middle East countries. The exams were scheduled to be conducted between March 16 and April 10, 2026, but were first postponed due to safety concerns in the region. According to the board, the cancellation applies to schools located in the following places:-

  • Bahrain
  • Qatar
  • Oman
  • Iran
  • Kuwait
  • Saudi Arabia
  • United Arab Emirates

Students studying in these countries under the CBSE curriculum will not appear for the remaining Class 12 board exams this year. 

CBSE Cancels Class 12 Exams in the Middle Eastern Countries 

CBSE has also stated that the decision was taken after reviewing the current situation in the region and keeping in mind the safety and well-being of students, teachers and exam staff. The board has also clarified that all examinations that were to be conducted on March 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 2026, that had been postponed earlier in these countries will now stand cancelled.

Thousands of students enrolled in CBSE schools across the Gulf region were scheduled to take the exams during the ongoing board examination cycle. Students and schools have been advised to regularly check the official CBSE website for updates regarding the result declaration process and further instructions. 
CBSE Official Circular 

The Class 12 board results play an important role for students as they are required for university admissions and professional courses in India and abroad. CBSE is expected to announce the alternative assessment formula soon to ensure that the academic plans of students are not disrupted.
