AI Impact Summit 2026: India is hosting the India–AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi from 16–20 February 2026 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. A landmark moment as the first major global AI summit hosted in the Global South inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the summit signaled India's transition from an AI consumer to a global architect of "AI for All." It envisions a future where advances benefit humanity, foster inclusive growth and safeguard our shared planet, focusing on the principle of people, planet and progress.

Key Highlight of the Global AI Event

The India-AI Impact Summit 2026 is currently taking place from February 16 to February 20, 2026, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. It is a landmark event for the Global South, focused on three "Sutras" (People, Planet, and Progress) and seven "Chakras" (areas like AI skilling, safety, and economic growth).

The AI Impact Expendium is a vast 70,000-square-meter exposition with over 300 exhibitors and 10+ specialised pavilions. major participation, including over 20 heads of state (including France, Brazil, and the UAE) and 40+ major CEOs (OpenAI, Google, Nvidia, Microsoft). Impact Challenges, competition results, and showcases, including AI for ALL, AI by HER (women-led innovation), and YUVAi (youth challenge). Twelve indigenous foundation models are announced, as well as improvements to the IndiaAI Mission's shared computing infrastructure.

Global Governance, the GPAI Council meeting concludes the summit. Brazilian President Lula leads a dedicated session on AI for the Global South.

The Three Sutras and Seven Chakras

The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity)  has designed the framework of the Global AI event, a unique philosophical framework that blended ancient Indian wisdom with cutting-edge technology introduced in the Three Sutras and Seven Chakras to ensure AI serves as a tool for universal good. 

The Three Sutras (Guiding Principles for a Sustainable AI Future): 

  • People: AI must serve humanity in all its diversity, preserving dignity and ensuring inclusivity.

  • Planet: AI innovation must align with environmental stewardship and sustainability.

  • Progress: AI's benefits must be equitably shared, advancing global development and prosperity.

The Seven Chakras (themes for global cooperation): 

These principles were operationalized through Seven Chakras: Human Capital Working Group, Social Empowerment Working Group, Safe and Trusted AI, Science, Resilience, Innovation and Efficiency, Democratising AI Resources and AI for Economic Development & Social Good.
