WPU Goa Open House Highlights Future of Education and Career Flexibility

20 June 2026: Artificial Intelligence and Rapid Technological changes are reshaping the industries. Universities now need to think about helping students in navigating towards career-transitioning skills rather than just helping them in landing their first job, as per the speakers at the World Peace University (WPU) Goa Open House held on 20 June.
The students, parents, and teachers present at WPU Goa Open House talked about the future of education. The speaker focused on WPU Goa’s unique teaching style. It teaches students to think beyond the subject and focus on getting the skills that help them to change and solve complex problems.
“WPU Goa is being established around a transdisciplinary approach that encourages faculty and students to engage with perspectives beyond the boundaries of a single discipline. Through immersive learning, industry integration, global exposure, and active learning, the university aims to prepare graduates for a lifetime of learning, adaptation, and leadership, also opening the doors for excellent jobs in the private and public sectors, where they can apply what they have learnt. " said Vice-Chancellor Professor Walter Leal.

The discussion explored how old ideas about college are changing because industries are moving very fast. New jobs are appearing, and old jobs are being transformed. Today, people who have skills from different fields have a better chance of success.
At the event it was discussed that people who have the ability to learn, adapt and work across disciplines may become as important as technical expertise itself. The conversation also examined the growing importance of curiosity, resilience and lifelong learning as essential capabilities for future careers.
WPU Goa currently offers a B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), a Bachelor of Management Studies (Hons), a B.Des. in Integrated Product Design, a B.Des. in Communication Design, and a B.Sc. (Hons) in Psychology.
At a time when students and parents are seeking clarity about the future of work, the discussions reinforced the need for higher education institutions to focus not only on employability but also on preparing learners to navigate continuous change throughout their professional lives.
