• For the Naval Academy, a degree in Engineering is required.

• For the Air Force Academy, applicants should have studied Physics and Mathematics in 10+2 or should be an engineering graduate.

CDS Age Limit

The age limit prescribed for applicants ranges from 19 to 25 years, though there is a slight variation depending on the academy. Moreover, applicants should be unmarried, though there are some relaxations in this case too, i.e., for the Officers Training Academy. Both male and female applicants are eligible. Apart from this, candidates should be physically and medically fit, as prescribed by the armed forces, to ensure fitness for training and service.

The selection process for CDS (Combined Defence Services) conducted by the Union Public Service Commission is a multi-step process for selecting candidates. It includes a written test for English, General Knowledge, and Elementary Mathematics for some academies.
