UP School Holiday 2026

Schools in Uttar Pradesh have announced new holiday updates due to extreme weather and major local events. In Gautam Buddh Nagar, including Noida and Greater Noida, all schools will remain closed on January 16 and 17, 2026, for students from Nursery to Class 8 because of a severe cold wave and dense fog.

Meanwhile, in Prayagraj, all government and private schools are going to remain closed from January 16 to January 20, 2026, for students up to Class 8 due to the Magh Mela and heavy crowd movement during Makar Sankranti and Mauni Amavasya. To ensure student safety, regular classes will remain suspended, and schools may conduct online classes during this period. Schools in Prayagraj are going to reopen from January 21, 2026, once the situation becomes normal.

Punjab School Timings Changed Due to Severe Cold

Due to very cold weather, the Punjab government has changed school timings across the state to keep students safe. As per the new order, all government, aided, and private schools will follow revised timings from January 16 to January 21, 2026

Primary schools will run from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM, while upper primary, secondary, and senior secondary schools will operate from 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM. School principals have been asked to strictly follow these timings and ensure that students do not come to school early.

Delhi School Closed Tomorrow?

Delhi schools have been on a scheduled winter break from January 1 to January 15, 2026, due to cold wave conditions as per the official academic calendar. As of now, no official extension has been announced for closures beyond January 15, so schools in the National Capital are expected to reopen on January 16, 2026 unless new directives are issued by local authorities. Haryana Schools Closed Due to Cold Wave and Dense Fog

Due to very cold weather and thick fog, the Haryana Directorate of School Education has decided to extend school holidays for three more days to keep students safe. As per the latest order, all schools in Haryana will remain closed till 17 January 2026 (Saturday)

Schools will reopen on 19 January 2026 (Monday) and regular classes will start as usual. All district and block education officers, along with school principals, have been instructed to strictly follow these guidelines. However, schools may call Class 10 and Class 12 students for practical examinations, if required, as per CBSE and ICSE board schedules.
