The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have released the RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) Recruitment 2026 notification with reference number CEN 01/2026. In this recruitment, approximately 11,127 posts of assistant loco pilot will be filled up in various railway zones across the country. RRB ALP Notification 2026: Overview
According to the notification released, candidates will be recruited for the post of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) in the Level-2 pay scale under the 7th CPC. The initial salary is ₹19,900 per month, along with railway allowances and benefits. Check the table below for a quick reference

RRB ALP 2026: Eligibility Criteria
Candidates who want to apply for the RRB ALP vacancies must fulfill the eligibility criteria mentioned in the detailed notification. Check educational qualifications and age limit here.
1. Educational Qualification

Matriculation/SSLC (10th Pass) plus ITI from a recognized institute (NCVT/SCVT) in trades like fitter, electrician, instrument mechanic, millwright/maintenance mechanic, mechanic (radio & TV), electronics mechanic, mechanic (motor vehicle), wireman, tractor mechanic, armature & coil winder, mechanic (diesel), heat engine, turner, machinist, or refrigeration & air conditioning mechanic.

Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile).

B.E./B.Tech. degree in the relevant engineering streams.
2. Age Limit

Candidates applying for the ALP Post must ensure that the minimum age required is 18 years.
