13th International Art of Giving Day Celebrated in 190 Countries

The 13th International Art of Giving Day, founded by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, was celebrated globally across 190 countries, impacting 2.5 crore people with the theme "Share to Shine." The event featured volleyball distribution, the launch of a theme song, and AOG Hero Awards, with participation from notable personalities like Leander Paes.

This year, the 13th International Art of Giving Day was organized in a massive manner, reaching
people across 190 countries and six continents with the vision of Dr. Achyuta Samanta. Nearly
50,000 locations across the globe, including all 222 FIVB member nations, every district
headquarters, block and panchayat across Odisha, cities and towns throughout India and every
state and Union Territory in India also participated in the campaign.


The event was celebrated in Odisha in about 20 thousand places. In all, the Art of Giving
movement has positively impacted the lives of almost 2.5 crore people this year, with the help
and participation of the movement followers, volunteers and supporters.


A series of Art of Giving programmes were organised in India and various parts of the world in
the past week, which brought together people from different backgrounds and communities. The
celebration is organized around a theme each year; this year's theme was “Share to Shine”, which
emphasized the concept of sharing happiness and kindness that leads to individuals' growth and
flourishing.


To mark the occasion the volleyballs and nets were distributed at over 3000 points in Odisha.
This year, 9,100 volleyballs were given to promote friendship, teamwork and harmony among
the youth, reflecting Dr. Samanta's dedication to sports development and youth unity.
Dr. Achyuta Samanta said that the philosophy of Art of Giving has been significant in shaping
his life, on the occasion. People have also been the backbone of the movement with their love,
affection and support over the years, he added.


To mark the occasion of the 13th International Art of Giving Day, a grand event was organised,
and people from all walks of life participated. The official Art of Giving theme song, composed
by Shaan, a popular playback singer was launched during the programme.


The event was attended by several distinguished personalities, which included Lok Sabha MP,
Rabindra Narayan Behera, Indian Tennis star and Padma Bhushan awardee Leander Paes,

Tibetan Buddhist master and Spiritual Director of Ripa International Center (Switzerland),
Getrul Jigme Rinpoche, and the Femina Miss India, Nikita Porwal.


As in past years, the highly acclaimed AOG Hero Awards were also given to those who were
acknowledged for their outstanding social involvement. Among this year's winners were Dr.
Bidyut Das (medical expert), Ajay Agrawal (Rotarian) and Kumar Debadatta (Professor at
KIIT). A cash prize of Rs. was given to each recipient. 1 lakh.


The Vice Chancellor of KIIT, Prof. Saranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor of KISS, Prof. Ratan Kumar
and other dignitaries and senior officials were also present at the programme.
