VIT Pune BTech ACAP Admission 2026: 13,458 Candidates Compete for 244 Spot Round Seats
VIT Pune Admissions: VIT Pune has started its BTech 2026–27 ACAP/spot admission round for 244 vacant seats. With 13,458 candidates on the merit list, selection relies on MHT CET and JEE Main inter-se ranks. Physical reporting requires on-the-spot document verification and annual fee payment at the Kondhwa campus.
VIT Pune Admissions: Vishwakarma Institute of Technology (VIT Pune) has now introduced the Against CAP (ACAP) / Spot Admission procedure for 1st Year B.Tech admissions in the 2026-27 academic year. After the release of the institute's final merit list, strong competition has emerged, with as many as 13,458 individual candidates fighting for 244 available seats in all engineering disciplines. Admissions are being done on pure merit basis using MHT CET 2026 & JEE Main 2026 marks.
In order to be eligible for the physical spot rounds at the VIT Pune campus, candidates were asked to register themselves online and make a payment of ₹2,000 as non-refundable application fee. The seat allotment takes place on real time basis through the physical spot round, wherein the candidates are called one after another on the basis of their Institute Merit Rank. The admitted candidates have to get their documents verified on the spot and pay the total yearly fees - ₹2,12,171 for Maharashtra state candidates and ₹2,12,671 for OMS candidates respectively.

VIT Pune Spot Round: Who Will Get Admission? (Selection & Allotment Rules)

Strictly in the order of their Institute Merit Rank, candidates shall be called. The merit number of the candidate shall be called up to a maximum of three times and if not available at that point of time, then the candidate loses his/her chance.

The candidate selects the vacant branch from the list of available vacancies in the spot itself. Candidates with high percentiles in MHT CET (typically above 97+ percentile) have very good chances for admission in branches like Computer Engineering, IT, or AI-DS.

All original certificates (SSC/HSC marksheets, entrance rank card, domicile certificate, and category certificate) should be presented in the spot itself.

The admitted candidate should pay the total prescribed yearly fee immediately to reserve the seat.
