UPSC Result 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is likely to publish the UPSC Result 2026 merit list pdf today for the Civil Services Examination (CSE). Candidates who appeared in the Prelims, Mains and Personality Test stages will be able to check their names and roll numbers in the result pdf. The results will get released on the official website, upsc.gov.in, and will determine the next batch of India’s civil servants, including those for the Indian Administrative Service (IAS), Indian Police Service (IPS), and Indian Foreign Service (IFS).

UPSC 2026 Selection Process

The UPSC Final Result 2025-26 merit list will not be based on the basis of Prelims marks that were conducted to shortlist candidates for the Mains exam. Instead, the UPSC calculates the final score by adding the marks from the Written Main Examination (1750 marks) and the Personality Test or Interview (275 marks). The total marks out of 2025 determine the candidate's rank.

What Happens After the Result is Declared?

Candidates who will be able to find their names in the merit list PDF today will receive the intimations from DoPT. The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will begin the service allocation process based on the ranks and the preferences indicated by the candidates in their Detailed Application Form (DAF).
Successful candidates will shortly be provided instructions for their required medical examinations at selected hospitals. After medical clearance, the "Officer Trainees" (OTs) would sign up in the 15-week Foundation Course at the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie.
