IIT JAM 2027 Registration Portal Activated at jam.iitkgp.ac.in; Applications Open for 3,000 Seats Across 23 IITs

IIT JAM 2027: The Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IIT Kharagpur) has officially launched the online application portal for Joint Admission Test for Masters (JAM) 2027. Interested candidates looking forward to get admission in M.Sc., Joint M.Sc. – Ph.D., M.Sc. – Ph.D. Dual Degree Programmes, and many other postgraduate science programmes at 23 IITs can now apply online through official JOAPS website jam.iitkgp.ac.in. Conducted every year, this national-level entrance test is a way to gain admissions to more than 3,000 seats across 89 postgraduate programmes. Online application process is available from September 12, 2026, to October 12, 2026, where interested candidates have one month to register, upload essential documents and pay examination fees online. 

Nationwide Computer Based Test (CBT) will be held on February 14, 2027, in 7 subject papers: Biotechnology, Chemistry, Economics, Geology, Mathematics, Mathematical Statistics, and Physics. Eligible applicants who hold a valid bachelor's degree or appear in the last year of their graduation programme in 2027 can apply for JAM 2027 without any age limitations. Moreover, JAM 2027 scores will be used by IISc Bengaluru, IISERs, and best NITs through CCMN counselling for their postgraduate science admissions.

How To Register For The IIT JAM 2027?

To register for the IIT JAM 2027 follow the steps given below:

• Go to the official website of IIT JAM (jam.iitkgp.ac.in), and click on JOAPS application portal to start your registration process.  

• Make a new account on the website with your full name, valid email id, mobile number, and password.  

• Login to your account through the automatically generated Enrollment ID and password that will be sent to your email id and mobile number.  

• Provide all the necessary information including your personal information, educational qualification, two JAM exam papers, and three desired cities for examination.  

• Upload clear scanned copies of your recent photograph, signature, Class 10 marksheet, and certificates of category and PwD.  

• Make the application fee payment via net banking, debit card, or credit card.

• Seat Total Matrix: More than 3,000 seats in 89 postgraduate courses through 23 IITs, along with results sharing from IISc Bengaluru and NITs. 

• Eligibility Criteria: Those candidates having a graduate degree or will appear for their graduation degree in 2027 are eligible for this exam irrespective of the age limits.
