DU SOL Online Courses: Beginning with the 2026–2027 academic year, the University of Delhi's School of Open Learning (SOL) plans to greatly expand its academic horizons by converting its well-liked foreign language programs to an entirely online format. The Executive Council of the institution recently approved this strategic change in order to meet the long-standing demand from students in India and overseas who were previously unable to attend the offline classes that were just introduced last year.
SOL is providing top-notch language education from the convenience of a student's home by providing one-year diploma courses in eight different languages, including French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, and Italian under the Department of Germanic and Romance Studies and Chinese, Korean, and Japanese under the Department of East Asian Studies. A specialized online platform that will provide interactive assignments, video lectures, and flexible timetables tailored for remote learning will facilitate the digital shift.
In order to guarantee that students get practical proficiency, the board intends to augment the curriculum with sporadic in-person contact sessions, even though the principal distribution method is digital. The program offers students an inexpensive method to acquire competitive skills in fields including international relations, translation, and global tourism, with annual fees estimated between ₹11,000 and ₹14,000.
