Selection Process Involving Multiple Stages

The process of selecting winners of the National Teachers Awards follows a stringent multi-level selection process that helps to promote transparency and recognize the winners.

Online Self-Nomination: From June 15 to July 20, 2026, teachers from different parts of India have presented their self-nominations through the special portal launched by the Ministry of Education.

Evaluation at the State and District Levels: The applications submitted by teachers have been evaluated by District Selection Committees (DSC) and later checked by the State selection Committees (SSC) and Organization Selection Committees (OSC).

National Jury: The shortlisted candidates have presented their works before the National Independent Jury, which selected the finalist winners based on their success.

The winners have received Certificates of Merit, a cash prize of ₹50,000, a silver medal, and an invitation to the Teachers’ Day event to be held at Vigyan Bhawan with short documentary films covering their experiences.
