UPSC Success Story 2026: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Service Examination (CSE) is considered one of the most difficult exams in India. Who is Rasneet Kaur?
Rasneet comes from a very humble family in Rajpura, Patiala district. Her father, Jaswinder Singh, works as a lineman for Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL). She came from a modest background, but she always wanted to work as a civil servant for the country. Her father's hard work as a lineman pushed her to set lofty goals and bring honour to her family and community.

Rasneet was inspired by her humble beginnings rather than disheartened by them. She understood very early that education was the only way she could change her life and help society on a bigger scale. Success Without Coaching
Rasneet took a different approach in an era when many candidates spend lakhs of rupees on coaching in Delhi. She stayed at home and focused only on self-study.
Rasneet committed a full year to "tapasya" (deep attention) at home. She turned her room into a refuge and cut her out of social distractions. She understood that the first attempt was to be the final attempt; there was no room for half-hearted efforts.
Instead of moving to Delhi, she transferred its resources to her laptop. She kept up with many online learning platforms, YouTube channels, and government websites. She ensured that her preparation was on par with students studying at prestigious institutions by using digital notes and online test series.
Rasneet, like other toppers, emphasised the importance of NCERT books. Before continuing to higher-reference books, she made sure she had a solid start in subjects such as history, geography, and polity.
