Uttarakhand Cabinet: The Uttarakhand Cabinet has increased the monthly honorarium for MBBS interns in five state government medical colleges from ₹17,000 to ₹25,000. Additionally, under the Sports Policy 2021, the Cabinet approved 243 out-of-turn government job appointments across multiple departments for national and international medal-winning athletes.

Uttarakhand Cabinet Decision: The Uttarakhand State Cabinet, which is headed by Pushkar Singh Dhami, Chief Minister, has taken major decisions in areas of healthcare education and sports development. One of the most awaited relief for medical students studying in five government medical colleges of the state in Dehradun, Haldwani, Srinagar, Haridwar, and Almora, has been provided in the form of increase in the monthly internship stipend of MBBS interns from 17,000 rupees to 25,000 rupees per month. This decision is in relation to demands made by interning doctors in order to receive proper payment for their services. 

Apart from medical stipends, there are 243 out-of-turn government job appointments in accordance with the policy of Uttarakhand Sports Policy 2021. These appointments are meant for those athletes who have won medals either nationally or internationally for securing gazetted and non-gazetted posts in six departments of the state of Sports, Youth Welfare, Home, Education, Transport, and Forest. The government has sanctioned 180 new posts in addition to vacant posts in the same departments.
