The central government made a decision to remove the Chairman and the Secretary of the CBSE from their jobs. This happened because people were really upset and looking closely at the CBSE when they had problems with their computer system for grading Class 12 exams. It had a lot of mistakes like mixing up answer sheets and someone hacking into the website to re-grade exams. Students were also protesting everywhere. The CBSE reported multiple cyberattack attempts on its re-evaluation portal this Tuesday. Despite these threats, the platform successfully managed over 8,000 concurrent users and processed more than 16,000 submissions by 3 pm. This follows recent concerns regarding the board's digital ecosystem, including portal delays and security vulnerabilities. Sarthak Sidhant, a student affected by errors in CBSE's 'On-Screen Marking' system, has reached the Parliament House in Delhi. He will give a direct presentation to the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Education. The government panel is currently investigating the technical problems and result mismatches that Class 12 students faced due to this digital checking method. 

NSUI moves to Delhi High Court challenging the CBSE On-Screen Marking (OSM) system over errors and alleged flaws in the 2026 Class 12 digital evaluation. The NSUI and the students are asking for changes to be made to the On-Screen Marking system.

Students can file an online request through the newly activated portal to challenge missing pages, supplementary sheets, maps, or graphs in their scanned answer books, as these categories are eligible for Board verification.

Students who have submitted their applications can make a track of their requests directly through the CBSE portal. The dashboard displays application status, payment details and updates related to verification and re-evaluation requests. students are advised to save their application ID after successful submission to monitor future developments in their cases.

The CBSE has opened its official portal at cbse.gov.in for students to apply online for answer sheet verification and re-evaluation. The controversy over the CBSE On-Screen Marking (OSM) system for Class 12 board exams is set for deep parliamentary scrutiny. This move is driven by growing student complaints regarding alleged technical glitches, evaluation discrepancies, and significant challenges faced during the post-result verification process. The Standing Committee on Education is convening a high-level meeting to examine these concerns and will prompt key education officials to provide answers.

As per the details provided by the board, the Aadhaar Verification has been included for security reasons. Those who do not have an Aadhaar card can use their parents', relatives or guardians' Aadhaar details. The Aadhaar name, date of birth and gender must be of the person whose Aadhaar number is being used.

As CBSE continues to firmly deny any foul play in the OSM digital evaluation tender, board officials are reportedly in a bind over how to handle the system's ongoing technical glitches.

Reports indicate that while the CBSE plans to slap financial penalties on Coempt EduTeck for recent data vulnerabilities in the On-Screen Marking system, the board’s hands are tied when it comes to taking stronger action. Because the revised August tender specifically dropped the strict "poor performance" and absolute "blacklisting" clauses, completely disqualifying or dropping the vendor is now legally and contractually difficult.

Critics and opposition leaders are pointing to this exact scenario as proof that the tender modifications first exposed by 17-year-old student Sarthak Siddhanth, were designed to protect the vendor at the cost of the board's exam security.
