BRICS Summit: Delhi Metro To Start Services At 6 AM On September 13 For NDA, CDS Aspirants
Delhi Metro services will begin at 6 am across all lines on September 13 to help NDA and CDS aspirants reach their examination centres on time amid BRICS Summit traffic restrictions.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), in coordination with the Delhi Police, will begin metro services at 6 am on September 13 to facilitate candidates appearing for the NDA and CDS examinations. The decision comes amid traffic restrictions being put in place for the BRICS Summit.
The move followed a concern raised by CDS aspirant Ansh Dubey, who pointed out that the metro station closest to his residence, as well as the station near his examination centre, was scheduled to become operational only at 7 am. The CDS examination is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am on Sunday.
Dubey had approached the Delhi Police, stating that reaching the examination centre on time would not be feasible under the existing metro schedule. After the Delhi Police asked him to provide further details, he identified Dhansa Bus Stand/Najafgarh on the Grey Line as the nearest metro station to his home and Ashram as the closest station to his examination centre.
According to Dubey, the metro journey from his nearest station to the examination centre takes around one hour and 45 minutes. He also pointed out that the examination centre gate closes at 8:30 am, leaving candidates with limited time to reach the venue.
The Delhi Police subsequently said that the matter had been taken up with the DMRC on priority and that it was awaiting a favourable response.
A day later, the Delhi Police announced on X that the metro services would start earlier on the examination day. The DMRC also issued a separate announcement confirming the revised schedule.
Yesterday, we received a concern from a CDS aspirant regarding the availability of early morning Metro services to reach the examination centre before reporting time.
