The National Testing Agency (NTA) JEE Main exams for the year 2026 on dates 21, 22, 23, 24, has been completed and 28 and 29th of January will began. The engineering entrance exam will consist of two shifts; morning and evening. While the morning will run from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the evening will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. Exams for these sets will occur at multiple exam centers. They will take place in various countries including abroad.

Key Examination Schedule Details

The examination will be held in two shifts each day:

  • Morning Shift: 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Candidates must stick to the reporting time mentioned on their respective Admit Cards to complete mandatory verification procedures before the gate closing time.

JEE Main 2026 Documents to Carry on Exam Day

To ensure you are allowed to enter the exam center, you must bring the following items. Failure to produce these documents will result in disqualification from the examination:

  • Admit Card: A clear printout of your Admit Card and the signed Self-Declaration (Undertaking) on A4 size paper.

  • Passport Photograph: One passport-size photo (identical to the one on your application) to be pasted on the attendance sheet.

  • Original Photo ID: One valid, original, and unexpired government-issued ID (such as an Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Class 12 Board Admit Card with a photo).

  • PwD Certificate: If applicable, an official medical certificate or physical limitation document as specified in the bulletin.

  • Writing Tool: A basic, transparent ballpoint pen.

Things To Remember On JEE Main 2026 Exam Day

Pre-Exam Center Visit: Visit the assigned exam center for the JEE Main exam a day before the exam. The advantage of doing so is that it will help you familiarize with the location of the center as well as make an estimation of the time and distance that needs to be traveled for reaching the center.

Attendance and Punctuality During School Hours: It is important that you reach the examination centre at least one hour before the Reporting Time mentioned in the JEE Main 2026 Admit Card. Most importantly, individuals who come after the closing time for submission of entries will not be allowed to take the test.

Rough Work Protocol: First, write your Name and Roll Number at the top of the rough sheets. You need to submit your rough sheets and your Admit Card to the invigilator  before you leave the examination hall.

Attendance Sheet Formalities: All necessary information should be carefully written in the attendance sheet provided by the Invigilator. Please affix a color passport-size photograph here (this photograph should be the same one that is uploaded along with your form). Place your signature where it belongs, and a clear, non-smudged Left-Hand Thumb Impression (LHTI) at the appropriate places.
