What are the Common Reasons for Rejection During GDS Document Verification?
Candidates get rejected during document verification because of mismatches in name, qualifications, missing documents, etc. Check the details below
Discrepancy in Class 10th Marks
The most common reason for rejection is the incorrect entry of marks. Many boards use CGPA or Grading systems. If your board has provided marks while using grading system, then you must convert your percentage by multiplying with 9.5
Example: If you have a CGPA of 9.0, your marks should be entered as
9 * 9.5 = 85.5%
Spelling Mismatches in Personal Details
While it is a very common issue that candidates' names or parents' names in the original certificate and names in ID proofs have different spellings.
If there is a minor spelling error in your application, carry an Affidavit from a Notary explaining the discrepancy. However, please note that major name changes will lead to rejection.
Invalid or Expired Category Certificates (OBC/EWS/SC/ST)
Many candidates are selected under reserved quotas (OBC, EWS, SC, ST, or PwBD) but fail to produce the certificate in the Prescribed Central Government Format.
OBC Candidates: The certificate must clearly state that you do not belong to the "Creamy Layer."
EWS Candidates: The Income and Asset Certificate must be valid for the financial year 2025-26.
State vs Central: Candidates must ensure that the certificate is issued by a competent authority (Tehsildar or above) and is valid for Central Government jobs, not just state-level recruitment.
Local Language Proficiency Issues
To be eligible for a specific circle, a candidate must have studied the local language of that state at least up to the 10th standard. If candidate has applied for the Gujarat circle but did not have "Gujarati" as a subject in their 10th marksheet, then it will lead to rejection
