Thousands of medical graduates who qualified for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2026 are awaiting the opening of the counselling registration window, which is scheduled to begin tomorrow, October 12. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced the tentative schedule for Round 1 of NEET PG counselling 2026, bringing candidates one step closer to securing admission to postgraduate medical courses.

The NEET PG counselling process is a crucial stage for candidates seeking admission to MD, MS, postgraduate diploma and eligible DNB courses through the counselling system. NEET PG Counselling 2026: Which Seats Will Be Covered?

The MCC conducts online counselling for 50% of the All India Quota (AIQ) postgraduate medical seats, along with seats covered under its counselling authority in central and deemed universities and other participating institutions, as applicable.

Candidates must check the eligibility conditions and seat matrix for their preferred courses and institutions before filling in their choices. State quota counselling is conducted by the respective state counselling authorities, which may follow separate schedules and procedures.

  1. Visit the official MCC website at mcc.nic.in
  2. Open the PG Medical Counselling section on the homepage
  3. Click on the NEET PG 2026 Round 1 registration link, once available
  4. Enter the required examination and personal details to register
  5. Create or access the login credentials as instructed on the portal
  6. Complete the application details and verify the information entered
  7. Pay the applicable registration fee and security deposit
  8. Submit the form and save the confirmation page or payment receipt for future reference
