India registered a massive 124-run win over Sri Lanka in the second semi-final of the Asian Games 2026. Chasing 170 runs, Sri Lanka were bowled out for just 45 runs in 9.5 overs, handing India a big victory. India will now face Pakistan in the gold medal match on Saturday, October 3, at the same venue.

India are firmly on the driving seat as Sri Lanka have lost six wickets for just 31 runs in five overs. It has been a disappointing batting performance from Sri Lanka, with their top order failing to handle India's bowling attack. India are now cruising towards victory in the semi-final.

The delivery was fuller and Abhishek drives it beautifully, but the following turning delivery takes the outside edge and travels towards short third man, where the fielder takes a comfortable catch. Sri Lanka skipper Sahan Arachchige has won the toss and opted to bowl first against India in the second semi-final of the Asian Games 2026. India will bat first at Korogi Sports Park in Nisshin.

India are currently standing at eighth position in the Asian Games 2026 medal tally with 60 medals to their name, including 10 gold, 21 silver and 29 bronze medals. India's gold medal tally also includes the women's cricket team's gold medal in the ongoing Asian Games. 

India's go-to pacer Jasprit Bumrah missed India's historic first-ever T20I against Japan a couple of days back, with the team managing without the star fast bowler in the rain-affected contest.

However, the right-arm pacer is expected to return for this crucial knockout clash against Sri Lanka in the Asian Games 2026 semi-final.
