Meghalaya board exam 2026: The Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE) has postponed the Meghalaya Board Class 12th Exams 2026 for Music and Anthropology for students in the West Garo Hills district. The development comes after clashes broke out between tribal and non-tribal groups due to the nomination process for local council polls.
The local authorities have imposed a curfew after the violence broke out as a means to curb the situation and avoid it from escalating. According to an official, the aforementioned Higher Secondary School Leaving Certificate Examination (HSSLC) exams, scheduled for March 11 and 12, respectively, will be rescheduled for the district, with the revised date releasing later. The exams for the rest of the districts across the state will follow the original datesheet schedule.
The official notice reads, “It is notified for information of all concerned that due to the volatile situation prevailing in West Garo Hills, the HSSLC Examinations scheduled for the 11th March 2026 (Music) and 12th March 2026 (Anthropology) stand cancelled for West Garo Hills only. The same shall be rescheduled for some other dates to be notified later. The examinations for the rest of the districts shall be conducted as per schedule.”
