NSUI Plea Challenging DUSU Result: The Delhi High Court has refused to admit the writ petition filed by the NSUI candidate Vijay Shankar Meena challenging the results of the presidential election held for the Delhi University Students' Union (DUSU) 2026-27. As per the result of the DUSU presidential election held on 19th September 2026, the ABVP candidate Yash Dabas emerged victorious and bagged the presidential seat with 24,576 votes against Meena by beating him by the margin of 2,053 votes.
Claiming violation of election process, undue advantage taken by university officials, and non-conformity to guidelines laid down by Lyngdoh committee, Meena prayed for the intervention of the court and submission of college CCTV footage. But the single-judge bench headed by Justice Saurabh Banerjee felt that the photographs and video links produced before it were not having any timestamps and could not prove the case of illegal canvassing or biasness on the part of the administration. Highlighting that the writ courts cannot entertain the factual disputes without proof, the court rejected the petition and directed the competent election authorities of Delhi University to go through the formal representation made by Meena and take a decision within stipulated time period.
