MP Police SI Syllabus 2026 Highlights

MPESB conducts MP Police SI exam in online mode. It will be held on January 16 to fill 500 vacancies for Subedar / Sub-Inspector posts under the Police Headquarters, Home (Police) Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh. The selection of candidates will be based on their performance in Prelims, Mains, PET & PST and Interview.

MP Police SI Exam Pattern: What is MPESB SI Paper Pattern & Marking Scheme?

MP Police SI exam will be of graduate level, consisting of 100 questions in Prelims and 600 questions in Mains. After clearing the examination, candidates have to clerk the PET and Interview for the final selection. The exam pattern for both stages is as follows.

  • MP Police SI Mains Examination consists of two General Studies (GS) papers, each carrying 300 marks.

MP Police SI Mains Syllabus 2026

MP Police SI Mains is the second stage of the recruitment process. Only those will qualify Prelims exam will be eligible to appear for the Mains exam. 

MP Police SI Mains Syllabus Paper 1 (General Studies: 300 Marks)

The Paper 1 of MP Police SI Mains exam comprises two sections: History and Indian Society, and Governance, Constitution and Polity, Social Justice and Legislations. Each section is for 150 marks each. Tabulated below are the topics to be asked in the exam.

PART A: History and Indian Society (150 marks)

  1. Indian history Harappa civilisation, Mauryan empire, Gupta empire, Harshvardhan, accounts of social life by the travellers who visited the subcontinent from 11th to 14th century, bhakt-sufi traditions, Vijaynagar empire, Mughal empire, East India Company and colonization in India, the revolt of 1857, colonial urbanization and town planning, Mahatma Gandhi and National Movement, framing of the Constitution.

  2. Post-independence consolidation and reorganization within the country.

  3. Salient features of Indian Society, Diversity of India.

  4. Demography of India and Madhya Pradesh, Tribes of Madhya Pradesh

  5. Role of women and women’s organization, population and associated issues, poverty and developmental issues, urbanization, their problems, and their remedies.

  6. Effects of globalisation on Indian society.

PART B: Governance, Constitution and Polity, Social Justice and Legislations (150 marks)

  1. Indian Constitution-historical underpinnings, evolution, features, amendments, significant provisions, and basic structure

  2. Functions and responsibilities of the Union and the States, issues and challenges about the federal structure, devolution of powers and finances up to local levels, and challenges therein

  3. Separation of powers between various organs dispute redressal mechanisms and institutions

  4. Parliament and State legislatures-structure, functioning, conduct of business, powers, and privileges, and issues arising out of these

  5. Structure, organization, and functioning of the Executive and the judiciary ministries and Departments of the Government, pressure groups, and formal/informal associations and their role in the Polity

  6. Welfare schemes for vulnerable sections of the population by the Centre and States and the performance of these schemes; mechanisms, laws, institutions, and Bodies constituted for the protection and betterment of these vulnerable sections

  7. Issues relating to poverty and hunger
