CTET 2026 Exam Timings: The CTET  is going to be conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on 07 and 08 February 2026 in two shifts each day. Those who have applied for the CTET 21st edition must know that the exam is being conducted across two days this time. This is the first time in CTET’s history that the exam is being held across two days. This is due to the fact that the exam was not conducted in the year 2025 and a great number of candidates have applied for the 21st edition of the CTET.

CTET Exam 2026

The CTET exam is being held to determine the eligibility of the candidates to teach Classes 1 to 8. The exam consists of two papers: Paper I to teach Primary classes (1 to 5) and Paper II to teach Upper Primary classes (6 to 8). The candidates can appear for both the papers provided that they have applied for both. The CTET is being conducted as per the guidelines framed by the National Council for Teacher Education. The exam will be held in offline mode.

CTET 2026 Reporting Time

It is always advisable to the candidates that they must reach the examination centre well in advanceto complete entry formalities like document verification and security checks. The examination rooms/hall will be opened at 7:30 am for Paper- II (Morning) and at 12:30 pm for Paper- I (Evening) i.e. 120 minutes before the commencement of the test.

CTET 2026 Exam Mode

The CTET 2026 exam will be conducted in Offline mode (pen-and-paper based). Candidates will mark their answers on an OMR answer sheet provided at the examination centre.

CTET 2026 Guidelines for Candidates

To ensure a smooth exam day, aspirants must follow these guidelines:

  • Download the CTET 2026 admit card from the official website (ctet.nic.in).

  • Carry a valid photo ID proof (Aadhaar Card, Voter ID, Passport, etc.) along with the admit card.

  • A candidate who comes after the commencement of the examination shall not be permitted to sit in the examination.

  • Candidates are not allowed to carry the following items inside the centres:

    • Any stationery item like textual material (printed or written), bits of papers, Geometry/Pencil Box, Plastic Pouch, Calculator, Scale, Writing Pad, Pen drives, Eraser, Whitener, Calculator, Log Table, Electronic Pen/scanner, Cardboard etc.

    • Any communication devices like Mobile phones, Bluetooth, Earphones, Microphone, Pager, Health band etc.

    • Any Watch/Wrist watch, wallet, goggles, handbags, Gold/artificial ornaments etc.

    • Any other item which could be used for unfair means and for hiding communication devices/gadgets like Camera, Bluetooth device etc.

  • No candidate, without the special permission of the Invigilator concerned, will leave his/her seat or Examination Room until the full duration of the paper is over. Candidates should not leave the room/hall without handing over their Answer Sheets to the Invigilator on duty and sign the attendance sheet a second time.

  • Smoking, chewing gutka, spitting etc. in the Examination Hall/Room is strictly prohibited.

  • Tea, coffee, cold drinks or snacks are not allowed to be taken into the examination rooms during examination hours.

How to Download the CTET 2026 Admit Card

Follow the steps below to download your admit card:

  1. Visit the official CTET website: ctet.nic.in.

  2. On the homepage, look for the Candidate Activity section and click on the Download Admit Card link. You will be redirected to another page.

  3. Enter your Application Number and Date of Birth and tick mark the declaration box.

  4. Submit the details to view your hall ticket.

  5. Download your hall ticket and take a printout for the exam day.
