Here’s a generic representation of the exam pattern and question paper structure for class 11 Business Studies. Students can use this to understand the examination structure for the session 2026. 

Annual Examination

80 Marks 

Based on NCERT (Entire Syllabus)

Includes periodic assessment projects, classroom participation, and attendance.

Question Paper Structure 

The question paper carries a maximum of 35 questions, which are divided into multiple sections. Students should understand the structure well to answer it accurately as per the section requirements. 

  1. MCQs ( Multiple Choice Questions) 1 Mark: Typically consists of 20 questions which carry 1 mark each. Answers can be of one word or a sentence.

  1. Very short (2 or 3 Marks): There will be a total of 7 questions, in which students can answer in between 50-60 words. 

  1. Short answer (4 Marks): Contains a total of 5 questions, of which one can answer in between 100-150 words. 

  2. Long type questions (6 Marks): It contains 3 questions overall, which can be answered in 200-250 words. 

  1. Internal Choice will also be offered in some of the questions. 

These are suggestive question paper structures and guidelines, students can follow to plan their study schedule. Preparing for Business studies can be hectic as it contains theoretical parts which need a lot of attention and note-taking. Students can focus on creating detailed notes for the subject.
