Why is the U.S. called a Superpower?

The United States does not refer to itself as a superpower, rather, it is commonly viewed throughout the world as a global superpower. A global superpower is defined as any entity that has a significant amount of military, economic, scientific and/or cultural influence over a majority of the world. The rise of America to the status of a superpower began after multiple world wars, evolved through an era of rapid industrialisation and continued to expand via its development of alliances and the development of strength in scientific innovations. 

Today, the USA remains central to global security, conducting international trade and engaging in diplomatic negotiations with countries around the world, thus allowing it to continue to play an important role in the advancement of technology on a global scale.

 Due to the abundance of ideas, products and media created in America, the vast majority of people globally are influenced by such products and ideas, which ultimately and continually alters the way people live, work and communicate. So to understand the reason that America is referred to as a superpower is to understand how countries can gain and maintain a significant amount of influence in the global community over time.

The United States is deemed to be a superpower due to its unprecedented combination of strong Military, Largest economy in the World, leading technological developments, large cultural impacts on the world and political clout through its alliance relationships.

 The U.S. has a significant ability to impact the international trading system, the World Community's Security structure and scientific advancements, and the geopolitics of significant Countries.

 No other single Country has ever had the ability to have the scope of influence that the U.S. possesses across multiple domains at any given time; that is why the U.S. is consistently identified as the leading Global Power.

The United States Military is considered to be the most powerful military force on the planet. With technologically advanced weapons, a formidable Navy with multiple fleets, Military base locations throughout the world, and highly trained personnel. 

 The United States is a leader in the development and production of Defense technologies which include aircraft carriers, bomber & fighter jets, nuclear submarines, and satellite systems. 

The military capabilities of the United States enables the country to respond quickly to crises around the world, have a tremendous influence over world events and conflicts, and assist the country's allies throughout the globe.

The United States has the largest economy in the world based on its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). The economy has international corporations headquartered in the United States, one of the strongest Financial markets in the World, and significant innovation/technology development in almost every sector. 

The United States dollar is the currency utilized by most countries for international trade and investment. As a result of the U.S. economy, decisions made by the U.S. government regarding international trade, interest rates, and specific industries affect nations across the globe.
