UPSC: The UPSC allows Class 12 result-awaiting students to apply for the NDA & NA (II) Exam 2026, preventing a six-month delay. Candidates can sit for the written exam and SSB interview but must submit proof of passing by July 1, 2027. The application deadline is June 9, 2026.

UPSC: The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has made another important provision in the realm of administration regarding Class 12 students who are yet to receive their board results and wish to apply for the NDA & NA (II) Exam 2026. This innovative approach guarantees that candidates enrolled in different state/central boards are not subjected to discrimination due to varying dates of their results' declaration. Hence, the policy of "result-awaited" students is introduced by UPSC to ensure that students will not miss out on an entire six months' period of examinations and training programs.

Nevertheless, this privilege has certain requirements. Although the candidate can appear for the written test held on September 13, 2026, and also take part in SSB interviews without having received his/her board result, he/she should provide evidence of passing Class 12 by the date the training program begins on July 1, 2027. As for stream-related requirements, the Army Wing applicant can have any educational background, but those willing to become cadets of the Air Force, Navy, and Naval Academy should specify Physics and Mathematics as obligatory courses. The deadline for submitting/correcting one's application will expire on June 9, 2026, and June 16, 2026, respectively.

What You Need to Know

Even when you can submit the application form under the category of "Result awaiting" or "Appearing," there is a clause regarding safety as follows:

  • Deadline for Proof: There will be no bar to write the test and then appear in the interview conducted by the Services Selection Board (SSB) in absence of your result sheet.

  • You will need to have official proof of securing your Class 12 result at the start of the training period at the academy (in case of NDA II 2026 intake, from July 1, 2027).

Specific Eligibility Criteria Per Wing:

  • Army Wing: You're waiting for result could be in any stream - Science/Commerce/Arts.

  • Air Force Wing/Navy Wing/Naval Academy: Waiting for result for Class 12 having Physics & Maths as compulsories.

Timeline And Future Actions

Applications for this particular cycle will have to be submitted by the end of today, June 9, 2026, by 6:00 PM. After this, the UPSC will allow a window for corrections till June 16, 2026, for any individuals that need to make some corrections to their applications.
