The Punjab Government has taken a major step in digital governance by making remarkable progress toward transforming the Revenue Department into a fully technology-based and corruption-free system. Initiatives like e-Registry and e-Jamabandi are now reshaping property registration and land record services across the state, saving time and money for millions of citizens.
e-Registry, which began in Mohali in May 2025 and has now been implemented across the state, is based on a modern digital system. Through this platform, any citizen can make online fee payments, upload documents, and complete the property registration process from home—receiving an approved registry within 48 hours. A document collection service is also available through the 1076 helpline, providing major relief to senior citizens and NRIs.
Launched in June 2025, e-Jamabandi has truly changed the experience for farmers in a positive way. Through the easyjamabandi.punjab.gov.in portal and WhatsApp service, village land records are now available within minutes as digitally signed, QR code-enabled free copies. The mutation process, which earlier took months, is now completed within 30 days.
Records of 99 percent of villages in the state have been fully digitized, greatly reducing the role of middlemen. According to the government, these services are saving the public nearly ₹100 crore every year.
Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated, “Now the system is reaching the people, not the people running after the system.”
These digital reforms have positioned Punjab as a leading state in building the country’s most transparent and efficient e-governance model.
